What’s New & Why I Love It – Episode 1 – Color Care Shampoo

Due to one of our suppliers going out of business and the sad reality of shortages and supply chain issues in the global raw materials market, I have recently had to retire some favorite Nicolas Hair products. Never fear Loyal Nicolas customers, thanks to some great new suppliers, I have introduced several new and exciting products that should make up for the loss of our old favorites – and dare I say it, I might like some of these even better than the retired products they are replacing!

COLOR CARE SHAMPOO

It is not an understatement to say that when I learned that not one of our wonderful new suppliers could recreate my favorite Color Friendly Shampoo, I fell into a depression. Those of you that loved Color Friendly know what I am talking about. This blue workhorse has been central to the Nicolas Hair product line since 1995 and it had long been my number one selling shampoo. Formulated with just the right amount of humectants and color-holding ingredients, this shampoo had a rabid following among my haircutting, retail and wholesale clients. I sincerely doubted that I could ever love a shampoo like I did Color Friendly, but I am happy to say that I might just love my new Color Care Shampoo as much, and maybe even more [cue a pause to wait for lightning to strike me for speaking such blasphemy…].

Nicolas Color Care Shampoo shares many of the attributes that made the retired Color Friendly so beloved; lush humectants and botanicals, blended in just the right proportion to moisturize the hair, but not weigh it down. Like my late lamented Color Friendly shampoo, Color Care is 100% safe for highlighted and colored hair and extensions. It lathers well and does a bang-up job washing away dirt and oil without stripping or drying the hair.

Now here is why I just might love Color Care even more than our retired Color Friendly shampoo – it adds Biotin to its ingredient list. What is Biotin you might ask? Biotin is a B-vitamin, B-7 to be exact, and it has long been renowned for helping to maintain and improve hair strength. Color services can weaken the hair shaft, leading to brittleness and breakage. The Biotin in Color Care, working in conjunction with the Pro-Vitamin B-5 that it also contains, helps to combat breakage, and continued use can aid in the appearance of thicker, fuller hair. I have seen this effect with my own personal human guinea pigs [my wonderful clients], all of whom love this shampoo!

Another great thing about Color Care Shampoo is that it is Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfates (SLS) & Paraben free. A shampoo that strengthens the hair shaft, is color-safe, makes the hair appear thicker, and is free of sulfates and paraben free – what’s there not to love?
