It was another wonderful visit to the Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica in November to experience the new collection “Tribe Three” and become inpired by all the great work.

I was able to creat the fabulous look you see above. This is a technically challenging disconnected cut, with subtle slices of color.  My model this year was super!  The whole team at Sassoon was inspiring, as usual.  Even International Artistic Director, Mark Hayes, got right in there and prepped Neg, my model, for the catwalk.

This is such a versatile look, dramatic straight, but also sexy tousled and soft.

My weekend at Sassoon is a highlight of the year, but this trip was truly a “wow” this year because I got to visit with my mentor and haircutting idol, Vidal Sassoon!  it was great to see him!

Nicolas had a great day as lead off Platform Artist at the 17th Annual Central Coast Hair and Beauty Expo in Santa Cruz, CA on Sunday, October 9th.  He presented six precision haircuts, including one on his first ever male hair model!

Our ever popular “Breakfast With Nicolas” Seminar returns to the Sands Hotel in Reno, Monday August 29, 2011.

“Breakfast With Nicolas” is a full morning of education, inspiration, technique, food, and fun; featuring Nicolas’s world-famous precision haircutting.   Both cutting edge avante-garde work and more salable cuts will be featured, all techniques presented on live models.  This year’s BWN will be to benefit the Reno Crisis Call Center (crisiscallcenter.org).

Nicolas traveled to Santa Monica to participate in the US unveiling of the new Vidal Sassoon Collection “Neue-Krafte”.  This 3-day seminar, led by Mark Hayes, Sassoon’s International Artistic Director, and all the experts from the Santa Monica Academy, left Nicolas creatively rejuvinated and inspired.
